Captain Jimmy: Guestbook
Mary and Jens
November 29, 2009
Oh my sea legs are itching.... we have settled in on the christmas tree farm in Skorping Denmark and Jens is riding a Belarus tractor instead of the Elsie Anna. I must confess that after school in Aalborg (I am taking Danish lessons) I stroll the marina, smell the sea, and my soul is gently rocked by the motion of the waves. Jens and I think of you and Brenda and wonder where you will go next. Hilsen to you guys

Hi Jimmy & Brenda,
Happy New Year!!! Nice looking website. Had a good visit with Colin on the phone tonight. He's doing well. He has two students: one to teach English to and another the guitar. Says he also bought a boat...a 32" (that's inch, not foot) radio controlled sloop to sail on the lake which, unfortunately, is too polluted to swim in. Glad to see you're having a good time. Enjoy the sunshine! Stay warm and dry.

I just heard, through Windworks, that you have retired and will be sailing away from the Puget Sound area soon. I wish you and Brenda "fair winds and folowing seas." I have learned a lot from you as a Windworks instructor, thankx for that.

May your seas rise
to meet you,
May the winds be always
at your sails.
May the sun shine warm
upon your face
May the rain fall gentle
upon your decks
and until we meet again
my old friend,
May god hold you both
in the palm of his hand.
as you know, an old Irish
parting prayer.

I like Capt. Jimmy's style & foot tapping music! Talk about the sea- You reach people with your soul & philosophy. Good Job! He does get a little "too country" sometimes!

Jimmy, I just found your web site after reading L & L. Your music is refreshing. It will become part of my boat repetoir along w/ Jimmy Buffet. Hope tosee you in concert sometime. Do you ever come to Canada? Your philosophy on life is that of a true sailor. I also try not to sweat the little stuff. I also have a saying (a belief) "work is what you do between vacations & sailing". May the Gods of the sea & wind guide you through the straits & narrows of life so you can continue to share your wit & musical talents with all of us salty sailors. Skipper John Canada

Capt Jimmy,
Just saw your pic in Lats and Atts magazine. It brought back memories of times spent as an instructor at Windworks. You may remember me as the Bering Sea fishing Captain who spent his summers teaching for Dave and Gregg. You and I along with Andy B had a great race out to the "SA" buoy. That was the race where you taught us how to avoid current by hugging the shore and walked away with two of the three legs.
Anyway I just wanted to say Hi and hope all is well with boat, Brenda and Windworks.

You influenced our decision to buy a boat, to close our business, to sell our home, and to spend more than two of the best years of our life cruising the Mediterranean and Caribbean Seas. Thanks a lot, Captain Jimmy… for the memories… seriously!
We have come to appreciate a saying; “Life is measured not by the number of breathes we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”

Captain Jim-
Thanks for the CD's. Your songs are an inspiration for the way life's meant to be lived.
BTW: You're a much better songwriter than you are a simulator pilot. Remember, the pointy-end goes in front.

Jimmy,
I will never forget the first time we met...at Windworks sailing class. you done GOOD teaching me as I now live on a boat in the Bay and sail when I can. I listen to your music when I am on the boat and it makes WHATEVER I am doing a bit more enjoyable...even when I was tearing out my holding tank...I mean...something like that can only be SO good...
Anyway I am waiting for the next CD...When is the release date..and when are you going to make your way down to the bay?

Ahoy, Jimmy,
Was bummed to have missed you playing memberfest. And now I've seen the pics and learned you got Greg to sit in on guitar! Damn. Of course, I was sailing, and that's the only good excuse. Your albums on the iPod made the night watches slide right on by. See ya around!

The new site looks great! But the calendar seems to be broken - where are all of the live dates for Captain Jimmy? CD's are great, but we need some live Captain Jimmy ju-ju to get through the nine to five :-).
